Assist Bars

Posted on 22 Jan by debbye | No Comments

We have had my 98 year old grandmother living in our home for just over 2 years now. Although she is healthy and mobile with the assitance of her walker, she needed some help to get it down small steps such as onto the porch or into the garage. I installed utility drawer pulls that are screwed on from the front rather than from the back of the drawer on either side of these doorways. These grips give her a convenient spot to grab hold of while she pushes the walker thru and steps up or down. It works so well that this week I added one on the wall to assist her getting into the shower. These handles are inexpensive, easy to install and barely noticable as well as removeable with little damage to the walls.
