Organizing Magic- Step 7: CELEBRATE

Posted on 21 Jan by debbye | No Comments

Women are notorious for not taking credit for their achievements, but when it comes to organizing your life it’s high time to stand up and cheer for your success.

fireworksA word of caution here. Beware of rewards that bring more “stuff” (aka clutter) into your home and office.

Remember that everything you bring into your life from a pet to a pair of shoes will require your time, space, energy AND money to use and maintain it.

Be selective and think of giving yourself some time off to DO something you enjoy. It could be as simple as a bubble bath, a manicure or even enjoying a library book.

Organizing Magic- Step 3: PLAN

Posted on 20 Jan by debbye | No Comments

image8041Creative types like spontaneity, but having a flexible plan will serve you well. Dream up your ideal systems (I’ll help) so you have a path to move along.

The best way is to work backwards. Remember that goal poster/vision board? Just looking (and even touching) it daily can be very powerful to stimulate your subconscious mind to find the paths to create your dream vision.

When you start “seeing” some ideas popping into your head, jot them on sticky notes and begin arranging them on some workable order. Before you know it you’ll have a path to run right into your dream life!

Organizing Magic- Step 2: CLEAR CLUTTER!

CLEAR- POOF! Make clutter vanish! When your space is full of clutter and your day is crammed, there is no room for abundance to enter in. Clutter breeds guilt, frustration and lost time. Invest in clearing out the 80% of “stuff” that’s clogging your money pipeline and constipating your life.

This goes for all the “to do” activities that are meaningless time-suckers, too. Take a serious look at what is not helping to create your financial fantasies and let it go.

Practice a “nice” way to say “no” to all those people who don’t understand that working at home, still is work. I love, “Thanks for thinking of me, but I’m busy working then.”

Organizing Magic- Step 1: Dream

Posted on 30 Dec by debbye | No Comments

Organizing Magic to Make Your Financial Fantasies Come True

As an ambitious, creative business owner you have what I’ll call “Financial Fantasies”. That’s not because you dream the impossible, but that you dream big. You posses qualities of unique brilliance that have significant value in the marketplace.

The challenge is that you are also a “BusinessMom” which, in my book, means that you are a nurturer. Weather it is to your children, extended family, as a community volunteer, or client coach…you nurture. This creates a physical and emotional tug of war. You may have heard this described as “seeking balance”.

Problem is that “balance” is illusive and downright impossible to maintain. The very word means equality, and let’s face it your family (nurturing) responsibilities and business demands are just not ever going to come out even on the balance sheet. Even if they could be equal, life’s realities just make it impossible to sustain…just like standing on your tippy toes can’t last long. Besides, you aren’t standing still. Life is moving on, and so are you!

A few years ago, as I struggled to “find balance” I realized these inequalities and discovered a new, and very achievable, goal. I call it “RHYTHM”. I loved the image of working in a smooth flow, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. My SMARTcutR systems gave me RHYTHM. With a plan and a path, I could manage life’s ups and downs more easily. I felt like a magic wand had touched my corner of the world and transformed me from drudgery into a dream life.

relaxing bathStep 1. DREAM- The Law of Attraction teaches that the first step to getting what you want is to visualize it as specifically as possible. Pause frequently to day dream about what you truly desire, in whatever area of your life that is currently chaotic. Make a goal poster or vision board full of pictures of your ideal reality. Write positive denials and affirmations. Be conscious of your self-talk. Keep it positive! Retreat from people who discourage you and limit your beliefs.

10lbs Slimmer Without Breaking a Sweat!

Posted on 23 Oct by debbye | No Comments

By my Fitness Friend, Susie Shina!

(I’m going to follow her advice because I hate sweaty exercises!)

A woman stopped me in the produce section of the grocery store. Distressed and worn-out, she asked, ‘Hey, Susie… What can I do about this?’ and she grabbed a big handful of her tummy. I told her very simply to STAND UP STRAIGHT.

joggerIt’s true; my #1 exercise for women is PERFECT POSTURE. Our bodies go through some ‘balance’ changes while pregnant. Our abdominal muscles stretch, our shoulders roll forward and our big butts stick out. Our bodies become accustomed to being in this position. Then it gets worse after giving birth with the care of our babies.

We hunch over to feed our babies, our heads are down to gaze at our babies and our shoulders slouch to rest our tired bodies. Then as our toddlers toddle, we have to stoop to hold their hands. That’s years of poor posture and we just sort of get stuck like that.

There is hope!!! Go stand in front of the mirror and slouch…really let it all hang out. What do you think? Now stand up really straight. Big difference! Why is perfect posture my ultimate exercise for women?

1. When you stand up straight, lots of muscles are working – upper and lower back, abdominals, hips, thighs, butt, and more.

2. Perfect posture is the exercise you can do ANYTIME, ANYWHERE… and you won’t get sweaty!

3. Exercising perfect posture increases the amount of oxygen you get to your brain, increasing memory and energy essential for doing your job well!

4. Because perfect posture involves endurance for the muscles involved, you naturally build strength allowing you to avoid back injuries, hernias and even alleviating sciatica.

5. Perfect posture is beyond physical well-being…standing up straight makes you instantly look 10lbs slimmer which increases your body-image and confidence.

What is the correct way to do this exercise?

1. Stand against a wall, roll your shoulders back, tighten your tummy, lift your chin and lengthen your spine. Your shoulder blades, butt and heels should be touching the wall. Step away from the way and maintain the posture…this is perfect!

2. Set a timer for 15 minutes and stand up or sit up straight for the entire time. Start doing this four times each day and build from there. Suddenly you’ll be practicing seven times each day for 30 minutes a shot. Next thing you know you’ll be walking tall without even thinking about it.

3. If you find this uncomfortable, it is because you’ve probably been slouching for awhile. Like anything else, practice makes perfect and standing up straight will soon be more comfortable than slouching.
Everyone can enjoy the great benefits of perfect posture… it is free, you can do it anytime, anywhere and you look like a million bucks when you do it! In just a matter of seconds, you can look slimmer, exercise several muscles and also prevent common back injuries and postural deviations. Now get out there and stand up straight!
