SMARTcut Solutions- When Life Goes Awry- Part 1 of 6

Posted on 19 May by debbye | No Comments

This morning I’m being interviewed for the AWHW (Association of Work at Home Women). The topic is “What to do when things don’t go as planned.” This, soon to be published, article was in response to the unexpected delays caused for travelers due to the recent volcanic ash.

In fact, I too should have been inconvenienced by this “act of God”. The SMARTcut(R) GEEK and I were scheduled to be in Ireland with the rest of my Mastermind group. Fortunately for us, our trip didn’t work out. The rest of the U.S. trailers to the event were delayed an extra week.

miniBeN809 ImgBesides the backlog of work created from an unscheduled week of “vacation,” there was undoubtedly a significant amount of unexpected cost involved. For an entrepreneur, that lost time can show up as lost income. That makes for a real “double whammy!”

Anyway, it all got me thinking how BizMom’s can insure themselves from the unexpected events that add to the complex chaos of the life we life. That’s what I’ll be sharing with you today. How to protect yourself from unavoidable situations and maintain some RHYTHM in your family and in your business.

First, delegate. Even if you don’t normally delegate household and business responsibilities, consider how you could in an emergency. Years ago I felt comfort knowing that I had prepared my SMARTcut Meals System so that someone else (another family member or friend) could take over quickly and easily. This system is the foundation of future delegation whether for emergency or daily help. What are some other places you could be ready to delegate?

I hope you won’t mind if I tell you a short happy-ending story. Recently, I met an amazing, but overwhelmed, BizMom at the 7 Figure Business Summit in San Francisco where I was asked to be a coach.

This gal (and her hubby) were so eager to plug into SMARTcut(R) systems so that they could streamline life and accomplish their big business goals. She wanted results (and right now!).

Here’s my “paycheck of the heart”. I told her that the best place to start to get the biggest pay off (literally) the fastest was in the “your meals. simplified.” system.

Here’s part of an email she sent to me:

“Hi Debbye,
I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE Your Meals Simplified. I am working the process.

I am actually in the gathering stage of favorite recipes etc. And as you know, it will take a little while to get the system in place. But, I think it’s awesome!

It all looks so nice and very professional. I am impressed with the quality of everything. This is GOLD! More moms need this.

Thanks again, Debbye, for sharing all your products and systems with me. I can’t wait to get to the rest. It’s going to be a little bit of a slow process as I have so much going on. But, I will work on one thing at time. Get that down and go to the next. Meals Simplified is the perfect place to start – as you has said.

Meghan”
( BizMom in IL)

I just love what I do when I get to “see” the results for moms like Meghan. How do you delegate some of your overwhelm? Inquiring minds want to know!

PLUMP Up Your Biz in a HURRY-Part 5

stopwatchHave you ever worked with a prospect, only to hear “I’ll buy that when (fill in the blank)”. She lacks a sense of urgency.

What you need are people who can make a decision….get in or get out so you can move on. It’s totally OK if they say “no”.

Now, to some extent you can create a sense of urgency with limited time offers, bonuses and the like. But some people just aren’t movers, much less shakers. They are so afraid of making a poor judgment that they are paralyzed by non commitment.

Getting a decision can set you free to work with someone who finds your product or service a better fit. There are plenty of customers out there, so why not decide that you’ll work with the ones who are ready to decide?

Laundry SMARTcuts ™

Posted on 06 Mar by debbye | No Comments

Organizing ways to save time and energy on your laundry can give you back lots of business and family time.

By reader request, here are my systems in a nutshell.

I wash by the person not by the colors (as mom and grand mom did). Put a basket in floor of each person’s closet. Wash kid clothes, towel and bed linen in one weekly load. I do a separate load for Mom and Dad’s sheets plus towels. We have a special place for each person to hang wet towels (color coding is smart here) so we use 1 per week each.

At the age of 7, I work with my kids to teach them to do their laundry. By the 8th birthday the kids were responsible for doing their own laundry on their assigned day. You may want to try the new Purex one sheets for the kids’ use.

Oh! And most loads can very adequately be done in cold water. We actually wreck more fabric damage by over drying. If there are stains, pre-treat (Fels-Naptha soap bar is amazing. Check grocery stores.) Hang any stained items to dry until you make sure spots are out. Use tubular hangers (don’t color code, use all white) and place them in the laundry basket when it goes to the laundry room, so you can hang clothes right away and avoid wrinkles.

Extinguish the Overwhelm Part 6 – UNSUBSCRIBE

Posted on 05 Feb by debbye | No Comments

See what will really not be missed and delete it from your life. Learn to use email folders and rules to keep your incoming messages automatically sorted for quick and easy reference. This way you can see and take action on “hot” items and postpone others (like store emails) until your off-peak hours.
